Alfa Romeo confirms 53-kilometre range for the 2024 Tonale

A few weeks ago, Alfa Romeo presented the Tonale, the brand's new SUV, to the media. Positioned below the Stelvio in the family, it promises to be a hit thanks to its spirited styling, driving pleasure, quality of finish and, above all, its electric range in PHEV configuration.

Recently, the company confirmed how many kilometers it would be possible to cover in all-electric mode with the model. The answer: 53 km.

The good news is that this is a little more than originally announced. With 53 km at your disposal, you'll be able to do your daily commuting without having to run the gasoline engine, which is interesting. And what's doubly relevant is the presence of driving modes that allow you to manage what's left of your autonomy, or to store it for city driving, which is normally the worst with a petrol engine.

Alfa Romeo's Senior Vice President for North America, Larry Dominique, had this to say about the news.

"We are pleased to announce the official EPA electric range of 33 miles (53 km) for the Alfa Romeo Tonale, which will enable many of our customers to make their daily commutes without dipping into the fuel tank. The Alfa Romeo Tonale represents the beginning of our transformation toward greater electrification while remaining true to the performance characteristics our customers have come to expect from the brand, including a class-leading 285 horsepower."

For industry comparison, that puts the Tonale ahead of the Lincoln Corsair in range, which offers just 45 kilometers of electric range. Even a larger model, like the Mazda CX-90, doesn't offer as much.

And the performance is right up there with this model. Thanks to its lively performance, the Alfa Romeo Tonale 2024 will be able to do 0-100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds.
