The upcoming electric Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa's future EVs

Alfa Romeo is embarking on an ambitious project to become an all-electric automaker by 2027. Rumors surrounding the Italian luxury carmaker would have its first all-electric model launched as early as next year as the next generation of the popular Giulia sedan, but that's not all. We're starting to expect talk of the GTV and Duetto names coming back as well, and more and more it looks like these models will be attached to possible electric Alfa Romeo models. Here is a summary of what we know and what we assume about the new electric models from Alfa that will arrive soon.

Electric Alfa Romeo Giulia

The next generation of the Alfa Romeo Giulia will likely be electric, or at least offer an EV version. The latter will feature an advanced electric powertrain and a range of up to 500 kilometers, according to early reports. The all-electric Giulia will be a formidable competitor to BMW's i4, among others. The platform will reportedly come with two battery sizes ranging from 101 kWh to 118 kWh. With this capacity, drivers can expect a generous range in addition to exceptional charging capacity for the upcoming Giulia EV. In fact, all indications are that the Stellantis Group's 800-volt electric architecture will be used as the basis for the next Giulia EV.

A Quadrifoglio version would also be in the cards and would feature an astonishing 1,000 horsepower and a blistering acceleration time of just 3.0 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The electric Giulia lineup will also retain many of the design elements that made the current model so successful including the triangular grille, although a distinct silhouette is to be expected for the electric models. What is certain is that the combination of stunning design and high performance will certainly make it one of the most sought after electric cars on the market. The all-electric Alfa Romeo Giulia will certainly be a game changer for luxury EVs and promises to deliver a thrilling drive with exceptional power and style.

Electric Alfa Romeo GTV

Rumors are circulating that a fully electric Alfa Romeo GTV is also in the cards. It will be based on one of the Stellantis platforms dedicated to battery-electric models, with a powerful 800-volt architecture and batteries ranging from 101 to 118 kWh like the Giulia EV for a range of up to 500 kilometers. Performance is not yet known, but some rumors suggest that an electric GTV could be even more powerful than the Giulia Quadrifoglio EV and reach 100 km/h in under 2.5 seconds.

Electric Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Alfa Romeo will definitely offer a range of electric SUVs that offer performance and premium luxury. While the all-new Alfa Romeo Tonale already offers a PHEV powertrain, it's not out of the question that a 100% electric version will also be offered. Next, we can expect an all-electric SUV based on the current Stelvio that will rival the Tesla Model Y in terms of size and power. In addition, the electric SUV could come in several versions like the current Stelvio including an electric Quadrifoglio model with the same ultra-powerful engine as the Giulia Quadrifoglio EV.

Alfa Romeo is poised to make a significant impact on the electric vehicle market with the introduction of at least five new models in the coming years. Thanks to the advanced electric technology of the Stellantis family, these vehicles will offer exceptional range, performance, refinement and charging capability. The commitment of Alfa Romeo, one of the world's most prestigious automakers, to provide premium electric vehicles is news worth celebrating for all automotive enthusiasts. We can't wait to see what they have in store for us when their new electric vehicles hit the market.
